Yes, they can. Even though we formulated our products to be one daily dose per drink, natural products like functional mushrooms can safely be consumed in bigger doses.

Feel free to consume up to 5 of our drinks per day, although for our caffeine-containing products, please apply the same logic as you would with any product containing caffeine -- limit consumption based on your personal response/reaction to it.

They don’t. When weformulated our products, our goal was to add as much mushroomy goodness to themas possible, without crossing the line into noticeable- mushroom-tasteterritory. And we succeeded ;-)

We formulated our drinks to contain one daily dose per serving (per drink). As most studies investigating the effect of functional mushrooms typically use between 2000 - 4000 mg dry mushrooms per day, we took the average - 3000 mg dry mushrooms.

We use highly concentrated mushroom extracts, which allows us to get the equivalent effect without needing to add so much powder to our beverages. Each one of our drinks contains 300 mg of a 10:1 extract - the equivalent of 3000 mg dry fruiting body.

Quantity is not the only important component here --so is quality! Most functional mushroom products today are not actually the fruiting body, but the mycelium (fungal ‘root’ network that produces the fruiting-body, or mushroom). There is new evidence to suggest mycelium also has some wellness benefits, however they contain nowhere near the same levels of compounds of interest (for ex. fungal triterpenoids & beta-glucans) as the fruiting bodies do.

The biggest problem here is not the sub-par levels of medicinal compounds, but that these products are only fractionally mycelium --the rest is made up of the substrate on which the mycelium is grown, such as rice flour. We are STRONGLY against this practice, and support efforts to start regulating and requiring honest labelling. It is unacceptable that products with pictures of actual mushrooms on them contain NO fruiting bodies at all, and are mostly (60-90%) composed of rice flour!

No, you won’t. Canadian orders ship from within Canada, and American orders ship from within the USA; meaning no orders ever cross international borders and are therefore never subject to customs.

All orders under $50 pay a flat shipping fee of $10, while all orders above $50 get free shipping.

Not at all. Hallucinogenic (or magic) mushrooms contain very specific compounds, mostly psilocin and psilocybin, which are the progenitor of the psychedelic experience one may undergo when consuming these specific species of mushrooms.

None of the mushrooms we use in our formulas contain any compound which can induce a hallucinogenic state. We only use 100% legal, natural, and organic mushrooms containing therapeutic compounds that have safely been used by various cultures for millenia without any psychoactive effect. The only thing they do is make you feel awesome ;)

At present our products are not certified Kosher.

All mushroom extracts used in TĒONAN products are made from 100% certified organic mushrooms that were grown on their natural substrate materials native to each specific mushroom. They were not cultivated in sterile laboratories with sterile air, sterile conditions, and artificial lights. Unlike the majority of medicinal mushrooms on the market, none of our mushrooms are “farmed” on substrates using cereal grains or rice.

Our mushrooms are grown in greenhouses using natural lighting and natural airflow. They are produced in the exact same manner you want your food produced - on a farm tended by real people, not in a laboratory managed by technicians.

Again, unlike the vast majority of functional mushroom products on the market, we do not peddle lab-grown mycelium in our products. Numerous studies have clearly shown that mycelium grown on grain has very low levels of beta-glucans (the good stuff you want) and very high levels of starch (the stuff you don’t want).Yet this trend persists for the simple reason that it is the cheapest and easiest way to produce functional mushrooms, and the market has not yet developed the level of education to discern the difference.

After doing extensive due diligence, we 100% feel that we have found the most reputable and reliable producers: BC-based NAMMEX. As with many therapeutic foodstuffs, it is normal to extract and concentrate the active compounds. This is done for three reasons. Firstly, most functional mushroom bodies are woody and not at all digestible by our human processes. If you were to just eat a whole Reishi mushroom, the only thing you’d get from it is stomach cramps. By extracting the active compounds first, it is as though they are pre-digested, and become not only much easier, but possible for our bodies to absorb them. Furthermore, extractions allow us to get more “juice for the squeeze” -- by concentrating the therapeutic compounds. And lastly, extracts dissolve well in water making the consumption process much more enjoyable -- instead of a powder-laden sludge that is hard to drink.

Broadly-speaking, in the ‘mushroom-extract world’ there are two types of extracts -- water and ethanol. The ground-up mushrooms are first extracted with hot water, which removes most (but not all) of the desired compounds. After that, the material is then extracted with ethanol. Because of its unique chemical properties (that differ from water), ethanol is able to extricate the remaining compounds that the water was not able to.

Finally, the liquid from both the water and ethanol extractions is removed by dehydration, and the remaining concentrated extracts are combined. This gives us the most potent, broad-spectrum extract possible.

Not only do we source from the most reputable organic medicinal mushroom producer(who have been in the game for three decades), but all extracts are tested by third party labs - TWICE - for moulds, heavy metals, pesticides, aflatoxins, mycotoxins, and a slew of other undesired contaminants.
